Animal welfare reporting
Terms of the animal welfare report
The MallorcaPets animal welfare concern service helps you submit structured reports about possible poor animal husbandry, animal suffering or suspected animal welfare issues. MallorcaPets is not an authority, does not replace an official report and does not provide a legal assessment of the reported situation.
The German version of these terms is legally authoritative where applicable.
Contents
2.Acute emergencies
If an animal is in acute danger or an emergency is ongoing, a competent emergency service must be contacted immediately — for example 112, 062, Policía Local, Guardia Civil / SEPRONA or AlertCops. MallorcaPets cannot guarantee immediate help.
3.Purpose of the report
The reporting service is intended to capture concerns in a structured way, prepare them linguistically, translate if needed and, after internal review, forward them to appropriate authorities where applicable. MallorcaPets does not decide whether a legal violation has occurred.
4.Reporter information
The reporter confirms that their information is provided to the best of their knowledge and belief. Only observations that are factually verifiable should be described. Insults, knowingly false information, unsubstantiated accusations or private disputes without a concrete animal welfare aspect are not permitted.
5.Anonymous reports and contact details
Reports may be submitted anonymously or with contact details. Contact details are not displayed publicly. Contact details are only shared with authorities if the reporter has explicitly agreed or if a legal obligation applies.
6.Photos, videos and files
Uploaded photos or videos must have been lawfully created. Not permitted in particular: images of identifiable persons without consent, vehicle registration plates, private interiors, foreign property without lawful basis, covert recordings from protected areas, and images with private names, phone numbers or chat histories without redaction. MallorcaPets may reject, remove or exclude files from forwarding if they violate these rules.
7.Internal review and forwarding
MallorcaPets may internally review, structure, translate and forward submitted reports to suitable authorities where appropriate. There is no entitlement to forwarding. MallorcaPets may reject reports that are incomplete, abusive, clearly unfounded, insulting, problematic under data protection law or not processable.
8.Public display
If cases are displayed publicly, this is done exclusively in anonymised form without exact addresses, photos, names, registration plates, contact details or other identifying information. Public status information does not mean that MallorcaPets has legally reviewed or confirmed the reported situation.
9.No guarantee of outcome
MallorcaPets cannot guarantee that authorities, organisations or other bodies will process, respond to or act on a report. Responses can only be passed on if received by MallorcaPets and permitted under data protection law.
10.Data protection
Personal data, location information and uploaded files are processed only for handling the report. Further information is provided in the MallorcaPets privacy notice. Sensitive information is not displayed publicly.
11.Misuse
The reporting service must not be used for false accusations, insults, neighbourhood disputes without an animal welfare aspect, reputational harm or other misuse. MallorcaPets may delete, block or stop processing such reports.
12.Consent on submission
By submitting a report, the reporter confirms that they have read these terms, provide their information to the best of their knowledge and accept the guidance on using the animal welfare reporting service.
